AIR Architects are delighted to announce the appointment of Jurgen Kuppers as a Board Director.

Jurgen joins AIR after 20 years at Foster and Partners and has extensive experience in cultural, residential, commercial and infrastructure projects. Jurgen worked on high profile and complex projects across the UK and abroad, such as the Stirling Prize winning Swiss Re St Mary Axe high rise (also called the ‘Gherkin’), in the City of London and with Colm Tamney on No1 London Wall, located opposite the Museum of London.

Infrastructure experience includes Heathrow Terminal 2 and Haramain High Speed Rail in Saudi Arabia.

Jurgen was made a Partner of Foster and Partners in 2011 and led the project for the Vieux Port in Marseille from competition to completion. He also worked on the competition winning project for MuReNa Museum in Narbonne, Paris.

Residential experience includes a 16,000 sqm luxury residential building next to the Tower of London which is currently under construction. Jurgen led the Battersea Power Station Phase 3 project, a mixed-use development providing 600 residential units, a 5-star hotel, underground station, retail and restaurants, gym, residents lounges, a private clinic and London’s largest roof garden.
